Decasia – 1st Berlin-Lagos Archival Film Festival
Decasia – named after the masterful film by Bill Morrison constructed from decaying archival footage – is an international festival that will screen outstanding films that use the unique power of archival footage to drive their narrative. The objective is to consider such key issues as: the relationship between archives and festivals and the impact of digital technologies. The festival will hold each separate year in Lagos and Berlin.
The THEME for this year’s festival is: Reclaiming History, Unveiling Memory. It will take place from October 24 – 27, 2019.
Parallel to this year’s presentation of archive-driven films will be a workshop on: Distribution Strategies & Preservation Challenges in the Digital Era
